A replaceable grounds jar can influence everyday satisfaction without establishing the quality of every grinder in a range. Public Comandante C40 discussion illustrates why the jar material and exact owner experience should stay attached to the report.
Comandante’s C40 Mk4 Liquid Amber package record lists a clear polymer jar and a brown glass jar. Its polymer-jar page names compatibility with C40 Mk3, C40 Mk4 and C60 Baracuda models. These are maker specifications, not a comparison we have tested.
What the owners actually describe
In a public C40 Mk4 thread, the original poster reports that the polymer jar became stuck after about a week. They describe unsuccessful attempts to remove it and frustration about the proposed service route. We have not verified the unit, correspondence, cause or shipping cost.
Other participants provide a different perspective. One long-term user of several Comandante models says the polymer jars are their preferred option and reports no equivalent problem. Another describes two years without the issue, but specifically with the brown glass jar. The latter does not independently demonstrate the performance of a polymer jar.
Turn anecdotes into useful purchase questions
Ask which jar material is included, what the approved cleaning and assembly routine is, and where authorised support is available in your market. For a used grinder, inspect the actual jar and attachment condition rather than infer them from the model’s reputation.
Forum suggestions involving force, cutting or temperature extremes are not approved repair instructions. A stuck component warrants model-specific manufacturer advice, not a procedure copied from a comment.
Our assessment is that jar material and local support belong in the buying decision alongside the grinder itself. This discussion cannot establish a common defect, a failure rate or universal superiority of glass over polymer. Equally, a satisfied owner’s experience does not erase the unsuccessful owner’s reported case.
