A one-litre Bodum spare glass is not identified completely by one litre. For an older press, the shape at the pouring edge can matter as much as the nominal capacity.
Bodum’s 2017 catalogue, page 39, Guide to Spare Beakers and Filter Parts, separates glass beakers with a spout from glass beakers without one. It also gives separate columns for metal filter parts and plastic beakers. This is a historical identification chart, not proof that every part remains available or fits a current model.
| Historical chart size | Spouted glass | Spoutless glass |
|---|---|---|
| 3 cup / 0.35L | 1503-10 | 01-11080-10 |
| 8 cup / 1.0L | 1508-10 | 01-10945-10 |
| 12 cup / 1.5L | 1512-10 | 01-11081-10 |
Use the old chart to ask a better question
Record the press model, capacity, pouring-edge shape and any visible part identifier. If the press predates the current shop listing, show the maker or authorised seller the actual assembly. Ask for the current approved replacement or superseding part, rather than assume a historical code is still the right order.
The cup label is the maker’s serving designation. It should not be read as a count of your household’s large mugs. Keeping the litre value beside it helps prevent a seller’s abbreviated cup label from becoming the only sizing information.
Glass and filter parts are separate purchases
A beaker replacement does not automatically include a plunger, mesh, frame or lid. Identify what is actually missing or damaged before deciding whether a part or a complete press is the appropriate purchase. Never force a glass component into an uncertain frame.
Our approach is to use the historical chart as an identification aid and resolve current compatibility before ordering. It is useful evidence for an older object, but age should be visible in the recommendation rather than hidden behind a current-looking product title.
