KINTO Travel Tumbler replacement rings: check Type A or B before the capacity

A ring labelled for a 350mL Travel Tumbler is not necessarily the right ring for every 350mL lid. KINTO distinguishes Type A and Type B lid components, and explicitly warns against mixing the two.

The USA part 40930 page identifies a Type B silicone-ring set for the 350mL Travel Tumbler. It says Type B rings cannot be used with Type A lids and caps. For older rings, the maker recommends a new lid that includes the updated rings rather than substituting the new ring into the old lid.

Identify the lid that is actually on the bottle

KINTO’s UK parts guide dates the referenced update to January 2025 and uses a KINTO logo inside the lid to identify the Type B arrangement. Its diagrams distinguish the cap, drinking lid and two rings. The USA support page also records the revision.

Purchase date alone can mislead if a seller supplied older stock, or if a previous owner replaced the lid. Check the actual component against the maker’s illustrations. The bottle body’s colour is not an identification method supplied by these sources.

A replacement is not a leak diagnosis

KINTO’s support guidance also discusses assembly, angled closing and ring wear. Buying a ring does not prove which of those explains a particular leak. Follow the correct revision’s instructions or ask KINTO to identify uncertain parts; do not force a mismatched ring into place.

For a second-hand tumbler, we would request a clear inside-lid photograph and the marked capacity before buying spare parts. That small identification step is more useful than relying on a product-family name that spans revised components.
